The average person has over 100,000 hair strands on their scalp, with the average person losing about 75 strands per day. However, if you find yourself losing more than 100 strands per day, then there is likely a problem. Here, we provide some inexpensive and effective home remedies for hair loss.

Hair Oil Massage

A hair oil massage can work wonders. You can use castor, alma, almond, coconut, or almond oil. By massaging your hair with oil you will help improve the strength of the roots of your hair, improve the blood flow to hair follicles, as well as condition the scalp region. Furthermore, for added benefits you can add a few drops of rosemary oil to your oil du jour, and wheat, emu, and argan oil can also be used if you don’t have other oils available. Simply apply gentle pressure to your hair and scalp using your fingertips and repeat the hair oil treatment once a week for optimal results.

Licorice Root

Licorice root is another popular home remedy for hair loss. Its mollifying properties will help remove dry flakes, soothe the scalp, and open up clogged pores. As a result, licorice root is recommended for people who suffer from baldness, hair loss, and/or dandruff. To prepare the remedy you will need to mix a tablespoon of ground-up licorice root with a quarter teaspoon of saffron and a cup of milk. Next, apply the fine paste to problem areas on your scalp before you go to bed and leave it on overnight. Simply wash your hair the next morning and repeat this treatment twice a week.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has many curative properties including stimulating healthy hair growth thanks to its healing enzymes. In addition, its alkalizing properties can help rebalance the pH levels of the hair and scalp to ideal levels, helping facilitate hair growth. Aloe vera can also be used by people who suffer from dandruff, as well as scalp inflammation, redness, and itching. To use aloe vera properly you can choose either a juice form or a gel form and apply the concoction onto your scalp. Leave it in for a few hours and then rinse off your hair with lukewarm water. Repeat the procedure 4 times a week and you will enjoy stronger and fuller hair with added lustre.

Chinese Hibiscus

Chinese hibiscus is another popular natural hair loss treatment. It not only promotes healthy hair growth, but prevents premature aging and split ends, reduces dandruff, and thickens hair. Simply take two cups of coconut oil and add ten Chinese hibiscus flowers to the container. Next, heat the concoction until it is thoroughly charred and collect the oil using a strainer. Then, apply the oil to your scalp right before you go to sleep, and shower in the morning. Repeat the aforementioned 2 to 3 times per week and you should notice a reduction in hair loss and dandruff.

Beetroot Juice

Beetroot juice is also a popular home remedy for hair loss. It contains many essential nutrients that are required for health hair growth, including vitamins C and B, as well as potassium, calcium, phosphorous, carbohydrates, and protein. Simply add a glass of beetroot juice to your daily diet to reduce hair loss. You can also drink lettuce, spinach, carrot, and/or alfalfa juice to promote healthy hair growth. If you do not wish to drink beetroot juice or its counterparts, you can add grounded beetroot leaves and henna to a pot of boiling water and apply the paste to your scalp. Leave the paste in for 20 minutes before you rinse it off, and repeat the treatment 3 to 4 times per week.
